Augmented + Virtual Reality
I’ve been creating VR experiences since the release of the Oculus Developer Kit. The majority of my VR work was with a Fortune 10 healthcare company. Due to the proprietary nature of those projets, I’m unable to share details here, with the exception of the Seniors in VR Project. Below that are a few VR projects I’ve worked on in my spare time.
Mercedes-Benz: Vision One-Eleven
I recently wrapped up a project with Territory Studio, delivering a one of a kind Mixed Reality experience for the Vision One-Eleven concept car. Serving as Technical Artist, I was responsible for visual effects, custom shaders, Unity integration and general pipeline support.

Aging Strong VR
While working at Optum, we had an opportunity to engage senior citizens that were dealing with socially isolating conditions. We developed a pilot program using VR to help remedy their situations.
We put several elderly participants in a custom VR experience built around gardening and raising baby animals. We used extra consideration in keeping the experience and the controller inputs as simple as possible. A few of the participants even asked where they could buy a VR headset after they tried it. This was one of my favorite projects because of the pure joy and enthusiasm from the seniors.
Space Plunge
Update: Space Plunge was written about at VRScout, and mentioned in the TechKnowledgy podcast.

Space Plunge is an experimental VR game that uses tracked toilet plungers as controllers. What began as a Global Game Jam project has led me to playing with other ways to use plungers as input devices. I’ll have more plunger experiments here. In the meantime you can watch gameplay footage of the original version, which was made in a span of 48 hours.
Don’t Hit the Deer

Don’t Hit the Deer pits users against the ultimate driving circumstances; you are tasked with safely driving your family home on a dark road, in a car with rather poor headlights. Can you navigate the deer-infested roads while putting up with your passengers’ distractions?
This was the first project I created in virtual reality. It was originally designed to work with the Oculus DK1, but I’ve since updated it to work with the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
